Drivers Licence
If you have lost your drivers licence don't worry! A quick call to the DVLA on 0870 240 0009 will see you quickly on your way to getting a new one. They will ask if any details have changed since your last licence and, providing you have lost both parts, they will ask for a payment £19 and will you will have a replacement licence within a couple of days – giving you plenty of time before your vehicle inspection! V5
You should by now have the new style vehicle registration document – the V5. If you have not then all you have to do is send the old one back. The address you need is: DVLA, Swansea, SA67JL and they will send you a new one. This can take a bit of time so make sure you do it as quickly as possible! For more information please click here

MOT
Your car will need to have a full and current MOT certificate. If your vehicle is currently covered by an MOT but you have lost or damaged your certificate then you should ask the MOT station that carried out the original test for a duplicate. This should cost no more than £10. If the testing station is no longer in business your local VOSA office will be able to help provided you have details of where and when the certificate was issued. Tax Disc
Your car must be displaying an up to date Tax disc. If it does not then you must get one. Your local Post Office has the forms you need to get one.

Proof Of Identity
Your insurance company may ask you to provide proof of your identity. You will need two items – for example an up to date utility bill and a bank statement. The name and details on these must correspond with your other details.
| Proof of Insurance
All cars must be insured if they are kept on the public highway. You will either have a copy of your current insurance policy or an official cover-note from your new insurer. If you have lost either of these make a quick call to your insurer and request a new one. Some insurers now charge for this service but you will get a copy quickly.
