motorcheck™ offers a mobile vehicle inspection service throughout the UK and there are plans to expand into Continental Europe. motorcheck™ is Europe's first dedicated vehicle inspection company serving the needs of motor insurance underwriters and claims managers. motorcheck™ is wholly owned by Belron®, the world's largest vehicle glass repair and replacement (VGRR) company operating in 28 countries, across four continents.

Rodney Drew – Chairman
Rodney comes from a long and successful career in advising companies about their marketing, development and finance strategies. His place with motorcheck™ was secured in early 2005 when he joined as its Chairman.
Rodney is an experienced consultant who spent 19 years working for 3i – his main consulting work there was in strategy, change management and IT development.
Rodney trained as an engineer. He holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Manchester University and attended the Advanced Management Programme at INSEAD.
He is married with 3 children. |
Markus J. Schmidt – General Manager
Markus Schmidt was appointed General Manager of motorcheck™ at its inception. He joined parent company Belron® in 2002 and has since then successfully led a number of major strategic reviews within the groups operating business units.
He comes from an engineering background having got his Masters in computer science from the University of Munich. In the past he has managed complex electronics and software projects in the automotive, telecommunications and new media industry.
Prior to joining Belron® he was with one of the big consulting firms working as a managing consultant in the firm's strategy & marketing practice.
He is a Chartered Engineer in the UK and Germany and holds an MBA (Distinction) from the London Business School.
Markus is managing motorcheck™ in the UK - formulating and shaping the strategic direction of the business and creating the vision for future growth. He will be responsible for its roll-out across Europe.
Markus is married with two children and lives with his family in West London. |

Chris Webb – UK Operations Manager
Chris Webb was appointed UK Operations Manager in 2005. His main focus will be on managing the team of 40 mobile vehicle inspectors throughout the UK.
Chris joined motorcheck™ parent company, Belron®, 8 years ago working initially at the head office of Autoglass® within the sales and marketing team. He then moved into field operations in various locations around Britain.
More recently, Chris moved to Canada as General Manager Standard Autoglass – responsible for eastern operations.
Chris has a rich understanding of operations and a dedication to customer satisfaction.
Chris is married with 2 children and now lives in Rugby, UK.

Matt O'Brien – Finance Manager
Matthew joined the motorcheck™ team from parent company Belron® in 2005.
Within his duties as Finance Manager he consolidates monthly management accounts, group budgets and forecasts.
Matthew has a BA(Hons) in Spanish with Italian from Exeter University.
He is married and lives in West London.

Petrie Hosken – Head of Communications
Petrie joined the motorcheck™ team in late 2005. She is responsible for all internal and external communications for the company.
She has a long career in news and journalism having cut her teeth as a war correspondent in countries such as Bosnia and Somalia. She moved into the world of business and financial media 9 years ago specialising in stock market activity and insurance companies.
Petrie still works as a journalist for broadcasters such as the BBC and CBS.
She has one son and lives in West London.

Bernd Veening – Consultant
Bernd Veening is the founder and owner of South Africa's largest vehicle inspection business and he joined the motorcheck™ team as Sales Director in 2005.
His experience in the UK market is unique. He has an in-depth knowledge of the motor insurance industry coupled with an innate understanding of the business. In the past three years Bernd has overseen vehicle inspections with some of the leading UK motor insurers. After motorcheck™ successful launch Bernd decided to return to South Africa with his family and back to his own vehicle inspection company.
Bernd is now a valued consultant to the motorcheck™ management team.
